NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar, who hails from Kithana village of Jhunjhunu, is still associated with his roots. Jagdeep Dhankhar’s farm house is there as soon as he enters the village. When the Bhaskar team reached there, there was a crowd of women in the 5 rooms made of lines at the farm house. Mahipal, who lives here, told- Bhaisaheb (Jagdeep Dhankhar) and sister-in-law (Sudesh Dhankhar) had opened a free sewing training center for women in the year 2008.
Before proceeding, let us tell you that voting for the post of Vice President is to be held today. Dhankhar is the ruling NDA candidate, while the Congress has fielded its senior leader and former Rajasthan governor Margaret Alva. Many other opposition parties are also supporting Alva, but Dhankhar’s victory is considered certain.
Mahipal said, “Bhaisaheb has also started spoken English classes and computer courses for the children here. A library has also been built. Now sister-in-law is watching all this work. She calls every other day to get complete information from the staff.
When he reached inside the sewing training center, he met Instructor Savita. Savita told- ‘In 15 years so far more than 2500 women have been given free training here, who are now earning money by doing their work. Free sewing machines are also given here to needy women. Women do not have to bear any cost related to cloth and thread during training.
When we came out of the Computer Training Center, Library
Training Center in the village, some more rooms were made there. Mahipal said, “Bhaisaheb was the first person in the village to speak in English. Now his wish is, every boy of the village spoke English indiscriminately. With this thought, a few years ago, he started Spoken English classes in one room here and Computer Training Center in another room. Bhaisaheb also built a library here, where there is a collection of all kinds of books.
After leaving the farmhouse, we went towards the village. When he reached near a cowshed, he came to know that he is also making money for its construction. Brajlal Yogi, who was present in the cowshed, told that Dhankhar had come here in February. Then he had talked about building a big and pucca fodder store, boundary wall, gate and some other things in the cowshed. Soon after that the work started.
Breakfast is served with Kachre chutney with cold roti and curd,
Mahipal tells that he has been with Sahib (Jagdeep Dhankhar) for many years. Dhankhar may have become a great lawyer of the Supreme Court, a minister and the governor of Bengal, but he still lives with simplicity. Their routine and eating and drinking routine remains fixed. In any case, he wakes up every day at 5 o’clock. After that do yoga and exercise. Then take bath and worship Thakurji.
I have been watching this eating for many years. In lunch, eat chapati and vegetables. In the evening, eat khichdi or porridge. She also likes the churma of sister-in-law’s hand.
The mansion in which the first election strategy
was built is Dhankhar’s ancestral haveli in the middle of the village. It was here that his two brothers Kuldeep, Randeep and sister Indra were born. In 1989, when Dhankhar contested the first election from Jhunjhunu, he used to make a complete election strategy by staying in this mansion.
A young man named Prakash Dhankhar was found outside, he took us to show the mansion. The haveli is in ruins, there was a net of weeds and shrubs all around.
Prakash told that Jagdeep Dhankhar’s tau Haribaksha Chaudhary had been sarpanch for many years. He had good penetration in many villages. Dhankhar’s father Gokul Ram Chaudhary was also a big contractor in the railways. Prakash told that Dhankhar’s childhood passed here. Parents Kesardevi and Gokulram Choudhary spent most of their time in this mansion. No one has lived here for many years now.
If you are in the village, twice a day in this temple, after leaving the Dhok
Haveli, there is a big temple of Thakur ji in a street. Dhankhar used to come here daily in his childhood with his mother Kesar Devi. Priest Sajjandas told that even today when he is in the village, he comes to this temple twice a day and sits here alone for hours. When they leave the village, they leave only after seeing Thakurji.
This is the temple where Jagdeep Dhankhar sits for several hours upon arrival in the village. On going out of the village, they go out after having darshan in this temple.
Dhankhar’s ancestral farm is about 3 km away from the village. Jojoba is cultivated in about 60 bighas of land here. In the year 2012, Dhankhar planted 9,500 saplings of jojoba here. Mahipal told that Bhaisaheb also pays full attention to agriculture.
