Team India has a chance to create history
If Team India wins this match, then for the first time in 39 years, it will clean sweep the Caribbean team in an ODI series at home. India played a bilateral ODI series in the West Indies for the first time in 1983. Since then, the ODI series is being played there for the 11th time between the two teams. The Indian team has won the ODI series on Caribbean soil 6 times before, but never managed to clean sweep.
The emphasis will be on improving the batting of the middle overs,
in the ODI matches of the year 2022, the Indian team has lost 46 wickets between 11 to 40 overs. This is the second highest number of wickets for any full member team of the ICC. However, the first name in this list is of West Indies. The Caribbean team has lost the most 90 wickets in between 11 and 40 overs this year. That is, the emphasis of both the teams will be the challenge of losing fewer wickets while maintaining a better run rate in the middle overs.
In the second ODI, Axar Patel had put the match in the hands of the Indian team, thanks to his excellent innings of 64 runs. In the last 10 overs, India needed 100 runs to win. In these 10 overs, Romario Shepherd made two overs and spent a total of 27 runs. Shepherd’s economy rate is 10.28, which is the worst among bowlers who have bowled at least 75 balls between 41 and 50 overs in ODIs this year.
